Leaves UnFallen by DanielZrno Leaves UnFallen by DanielZrno
Back up with you, fallen ones!
:)

note: no selective desaturation here, just a dark cloudy day so the water is grey/black

Lake Trakoscan, Croatia

Great concept, but there are a few things you could improve in its execution.

I would throw on an ND filter and smooth the water, but I guess that's up to you, if you like the waves or not (which I find mildly distracting). I like the glassy thumbnail of this, since I can't really see so much detail in the water at that size. I think impact might notch up a point if the viewer wasn't more disoriented than they already are (unless that's your goal, of course).

Figuring out how you took this shot could not be more confusing (this is a good thing) -- I'm guessing you've rotated the image 180 degrees, and the tree is in a pond at the edge of the water.

I like that curving tree trunk -- it looks like that Fibonacci/Golden thingamagig. The shadows around the leaves are nice as well.

Wow! This is a beautiful photo, and does a great job capturing an interesting concept! The fact that you were able to capture very dark water and bright leaves really emphasizes your idea more than a something more colorful would have. This is a charming piece with a lot of detail, and I enjoy looking at it! Great work!

Thank you Ashley!
Yeah, the water helped a lot, and I'm rather glad to have had a chance to make this shot as it was a rainy and gloomy day and I already thought the whole day will end with not a single decent photo... and then - on the way back to go home - there was a moment without rain or wind, and I was just passing this spot so... :)

Haha, yes! :)
But it was quite a depressive rainy day, and this shot saved it :)
