Since this winter was so cold (-20 at times here), Plitvice Lakes got partially frozen. This kind of freezing doesn't happen too often so I rushed over to take some photos of the ice sculptures the lakes and waterfalls create.
I mean, SLR is ok if you don't have to wait too long for it and spend huge money (only to use it as a compact in auto mode). SLR is great if you're sure you will use its features. If going with an SLR, start with an entry level and slowly upgrade it (lenses are more important than camera!)
Ahan! Well I'll let you know as soon as I get one.. They're quite expensive in here though... What do you say about mobile cameras??? I mean if it gives nice result it can be used for many purposes as well..O_O
Heh, there's a huge difference between SLR and mobile, primarily in the use and approach to photography. Mobile you will always have with you (which is important) and it can give you great results in some situations (mostly if the light is good, and you don't want to go too close or too far), while SLR is heavier, more expensive (keep in mind that lenses will cost you more than the camera, but that's something you can upgrade slowly over time, and they don't lose value with time, so you basically buy them "for life"), but also much more flexible and will give you better results in every area and be able to do things a mobile can never do: e.g. tripodless low light such as concerts and parties, macro, huge tele capabilites, very shallow DoF, various flash crazyness.
It all comes down to the question - how do you want to use your camera? Once you know that, you can think of which is best for intended use.

This photo is incredible! I really love these kinds of ice sculptures, and even more so because they are naturally occurring. The one you have found here is really wonderful, and the colours are magnificent. Really, really nice shot!
